Hong Kong - 3rd Day

This morning we woke up and went to McDonalds for breakfast. We ordered the Ham n' Egg Twisty Pasta. It was really delicious. Don't understand why Malaysia McDonalds can't have this on their menu.

Evelyn ordered the Big Breakfast set. Almost similar to Malaysia.
Ade ordered the Sausage McMuffin, also something similar to Malaysia.
After breakfast, we took the MTR to Tung Chung as we wanted to take the Ngong Ping 360 Cable car ride to Lantau Island, where the Tian Tan Buddha Statue is. Tung Chung had a huge mall called Citygates that had a lot of outlets for brands like Nike, Adidas, Polo Ralph Lauren, Burberry, etc etc etc.

The whole cable car journey took about 25 minutes, and it had an "angle station" where the cars makes a turn of about 60 degrees before proceeding on it's journey. On arrival at Lantau, we have to pass through the Ngong Ping village where there are a lot of souvenir shops and restaurants.

Finally we reach the foot of the big Buddha statue. Sis and I decided to just take a picture at the foot of the long staircase, since we had already "made the journey up" many years ago ! Hehehe, we let the 2 youngsters climb up the stairs while we went in search of the "San Sui Tau Foo Fa" which was not only delicious but very smooth as well.
Meanwhile, Ade and Evelyn finally reach the top and took a photo with the Buddha.
This picture was taken during our journey back to Tung Chung. You can see how far and high up the cable cars go. Sis was actually afraid during the whole journey !
By the time we finished our window shopping in Tung Chung, it was already close to 4pm. From there we went to Times Square Hong Kong just to take a look at the Hong Kong landmark. Then we took the ferry from Wan Chai as we wanted to go to Temple Street for dinner.
Temple Street is famous for its claypot rice, and we ordered 2 pots. One is claypot pork ribs and another one is claypot waxed meat. When the rice arrives, there is this bottle of dark soy sauce for us to add into the rice, then to mixed it up before eating.

Although the claypot rice is quite nice, Temple Street was sooooo quiet ! There were only a few stalls around, unlike the last time sis and I were in Hong Kong. Now, it's even smaller than the pasar malam near my house !

From Temple Street, we decided to go to Ladies Street. Now that is a really happening place, with so many people milling around, and it's like Petaling Street x 2. There were also many shops around. I bought a "skin" for my iPod and Evelyn bought her football jersey. Can't remember it was Ronaldo or Ronaldinho. To me, all same same.
Our last stop of the day was back to Sweet Dynasty. This time round, aside from the Walnut soup, we ordered Birds' nest egg tarts. Very small but quite tasty.
We also ordered some "Har Gau" but it was so-so only.
Evelyn ordered the Ginger Soup Glutinous Ball which took such a long time to arrive, and it's not even as tasty as those in Malaysia. I think even the ones sold in our pasar malam taste better !
