GASP ! It's.... it's...... IT'S ALIVE !!!!!

My PC has returned from the DEAD !!!!!!!

Today, I finally decided to take a look at the PC, and began stripping it naked of all the outer covers..... hehe......

Then I used a straw to blow away all the dust that was gathering at the nooks and corners and in the fan of the CPU and graphic card. After that, I just tried my luck, plugged in the power cord and turned it on.

LO AND BEHOLD, the monitor began to glow and the Intel Mainboard picture came up. I kept my fingers crossed, and the Windows ME logo started appearing. Wahliao.... I was soooooooooo happy !

I've already restarted it twice, and it seems to be working okay, but I'd never know, maybe tonight when I try to start it, it will not work again. Pray for me that it works !

High In The Sky

I was high up in the sky on 12th April. I went for a ride on the Eye On Malaysia. It was a launching by HP on their AMD server & notebook, and they held their launching at Titiwangsa, where they treated their business partners (us lor.....) to some nice food (so-so lar..), ice cream and even popcorns.

They also had a lucky draw, with the prize an AMD notebook. Unfortunately, yours truly as usual, was not lucky enough. It went to a guy who looked about as excited as watching the flower grow when they announced he won the lucky draw. Just don't understand why it was him instead of me !

There are also some artists there drawing caricatures of the attendees. My colleagues and I had a nice one drawn for each of us. We wanted him to draw one with all of us in it, unfortunately the artist was surrounded by a lot of people waiting for their drawings. HP even supplied us with a frame for the caricature.

Anyway, it was a rainy day, raining before the event and after the lucky draw, and we didn't bring along our umbrellas, so we decided instead to take a ride on the ferris wheel. HP gave each of us a ticket for the ride.

Each of the gondola is air-conditioned, and can take up to 8 person, although it will be a tight squeeze. There is also a couple of VIP gondolas fitted with a bar and duno-wat-else. Anyway, more information can be found at www.eyeonmalaysia.com.my.

On the first turn, we were almost to the top when the ferris wheel suddenly turned the opposite direction, and we were going back towards the ground. Then it went up again. When we were at the top, it stopped to allow us to take photos. There was a problem taking picture from the gondola of the ferris wheel, because it was still drizzling, so there were water drops on the glass.

All in all, the ferris wheel is supposed to turn around 4 times. But maybe because of the initial hiccup, ours actually went around about 5 times. Hahaha...............

This is a view of the ferris wheel from the ground.
Another view of the ferris wheel.
This is where we queue to get into a gondola. Ladies wearing heels with sharp pointy spikes will have to be careful not to get it stuck on the steel flooring, which had a lot of little holes.
This is a view from right below the ferris wheel, which I took while waiting for a gondola to stop in front of us.
These are some of my colleagues.
That's me with another colleague of mine. Next to us is another guy, who must be feeling reallllly out of place since he is the only odd one out. Haha... poor fella.
This is the best view I took. Notice the water drops on the glass, giving the picture a blurred look.

Well, aside from the rain, it was a really fun day and a nice ride on Eye On Malaysia.

VRRROOMMMM VROMMMMMMMMMMMM

Sepang F1 Circuit ! Sepang F1 Circuit Grandstand ! That's where I was this afternoon.

This is my ticket to the Turqoise Stand which is directly opposite the Toyota pitstop paddock. I got this ticket (worth RM1100 !) courtesy of my niece who works in UMW. Some of their customers didn't turn up, so she called to say she has 3 extra tickets. Great luck huh ?

So after lunch, Ange, Evelyn and myself made our way to Sepang. We were supposed to get a parking ticket after the toll. Guess the price of the Sepang F1 Circuit parking ticket. It was RM50 !!! FOR A PIECE OF STICKER !

Unfortunately, try as we may, we got stuck in the jam to the circuit and couldn't make it in time for the start of the Grand Prix. Just look at all the cars.

Well, we finally arrive around 3:20pm. With the RM50 parking ticket, all I get was to park at a used palm tree plantation area ! Don't even have nice tarred roads or marked parking spaces ! Anyway, my car had no gas, so the aircond wasn't working properly. It was HOT ! HOT HOT HOT ! Reaaaaaaalllllllllllyyyyyyyy HOT ! And after parking the car, we still had to walk quite some way to reach the main entrance. Again, HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT !

Anyway, long story short, I finally managed to get into the main area. Nice ya. Of coz, I was probably losing as much water as the F1 drivers in their car, since I was literally oozing water from all pores. The noise was already becoming too loud to bear, so we had to wear the given ear plugs.

This is the entrance to the Grandstand. The noise was really deafening, especially when the F1 cars drive by. When they enter the pitstop, the noise is even worse.

That's the pit stop paddocks, and there's a Red Bull car getting ready to pit.

This handsome gwailo photographer is trying to capture a nice pic. Just look at the size of his lens !

These are some of the F1 cars that I managed to capture with my handphone camera. You think it's easy ? Most of the time, the pictures have no cars in them because they zoom by so darn fast ! Every 15 photos only get me ONE with a car in it !

These whole bunch of cameramen waited here to try and capture the photo of the Grand Prix winner, which was Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton.

One of the spectators bought this cute cow that can dance and it had a little Toyota flag.

This is what the Turqoise Grandstand looks like.
That's the aircond area. Not sure whether meant for spectators or for their team members.

See how cute the supporters are ?

Going home was another nightmare. We were stuck in the darn carpark area for more than 30 minutes, because none of the cars were moving ! Yes, aircond still not working ! I almost fell asleep. The other two ? They were FAST ASLEEP !

Anyway, we reach home 2 house and 15 minutes later ! Hot, tired and sleepy. But all in all, it was a really interesting day. How many people get to sit in the F1 Grandstand ? So, to Ade,

My PC DIED !!!!!

ARRRRGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!
MY PC WON'T START UP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It was making cranking noises a few days back and I knew something was wrong, but since the startup had no problem, I thought everything was okay.

Unfortunately, while I was surfing a website, the PC suddenly hung. I had to go out so I just shut down the power and went off. When I came back in the evening, I switched on the PC, and it just stopped at the boot-up screen.

I even took out the RAM just to see if that was the cause of the problem, but aside from some beeping sounds, nothing happened. I put the RAM in again, and this time, the monitor remains a plain, blank, empty, nothing display. Zip. Zilch. Nada. Elek. Boh. Mei you. Mau. Tara. Mou.

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How am I supposed to live without a PC ? Without being able to check my emails ? And worst of all, WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO DOWNLOAD HEROES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
