I was high up in the sky on 12th April. I went for a ride on the Eye On Malaysia. It was a launching by HP on their AMD server & notebook, and they held their launching at Titiwangsa, where they treated their business partners (us lor.....) to some nice food (so-so lar..), ice cream and even popcorns.
They also had a lucky draw, with the prize an AMD notebook. Unfortunately, yours truly as usual, was not lucky enough. It went to a guy who looked about as excited as watching the flower grow when they announced he won the lucky draw. Just don't understand why it was him instead of me !
There are also some artists there drawing caricatures of the attendees. My colleagues and I had a nice one drawn for each of us. We wanted him to draw one with all of us in it, unfortunately the artist was surrounded by a lot of people waiting for their drawings. HP even supplied us with a frame for the caricature.
Anyway, it was a rainy day, raining before the event and after the lucky draw, and we didn't bring along our umbrellas, so we decided instead to take a ride on the ferris wheel. HP gave each of us a ticket for the ride.
Each of the gondola is air-conditioned, and can take up to 8 person, although it will be a tight squeeze. There is also a couple of VIP gondolas fitted with a bar and duno-wat-else. Anyway, more information can be found at www.eyeonmalaysia.com.my.
On the first turn, we were almost to the top when the ferris wheel suddenly turned the opposite direction, and we were going back towards the ground. Then it went up again. When we were at the top, it stopped to allow us to take photos. There was a problem taking picture from the gondola of the ferris wheel, because it was still drizzling, so there were water drops on the glass.
All in all, the ferris wheel is supposed to turn around 4 times. But maybe because of the initial hiccup, ours actually went around about 5 times. Hahaha...............
This is a view of the ferris wheel from the ground.
Another view of the ferris wheel.
This is where we queue to get into a gondola. Ladies wearing heels with sharp pointy spikes will have to be careful not to get it stuck on the steel flooring, which had a lot of little holes.
This is a view from right below the ferris wheel, which I took while waiting for a gondola to stop in front of us.
These are some of my colleagues.
That's me with another colleague of mine. Next to us is another guy, who must be feeling reallllly out of place since he is the only odd one out. Haha... poor fella.
This is the best view I took. Notice the water drops on the glass, giving the picture a blurred look.
Well, aside from the rain, it was a really fun day and a nice ride on Eye On Malaysia.
