Last Sunday went to Mid Valley's Dragon-i for dinner (non-halal restaurant) with my friend. We ordered quite a few dishes, so by the end of the meal, we were so full that we had to tapau one of the dishes. But what we had were quite interesting.
This is the "Hua Tiao" chicken, and it's a cold dish. The chicken is chilled and placed in chinese "hua tiao" wine. Quite nice and fragrant, once you get pass the bitterness of the wine.
Next is their signature "siao loong pau". Inside each of these miniature "buns" is a spoonful of HOT (as in scalding) soup and some pork. Very yummy .......
Then came the seafood soup, which is made of clams and also had red dates and other stuff in it. Bit "fishy" for me.
Now, this is an interesting dish, and it also taste really delicious. The white stuff are actually made of egg whites and some mushrooms fried together. Beneath the broccolis are soy sauce. Then they place a raw egg yolk in the middle. You are supposed to mix the egg yolk and the whites properly before eating. The end result ? A yummy dish, especially when eaten with rice.
This is another interesting dish. They fry chicken (sorta like KFC popcorn) with dry red chillies, and this is quite a huge basket. The taste is nice, but slightly dry. Goes well with or without rice. This is the one we couldn't finish, and had to tapau.
Lastly, we also ordered their honey-sauce pork ribs. Quite nice, but to me, it was a bit cold when delivered to our table. I would have preferred it to be piping hot.All in all, a very nice delicious dinner, and there are still some other interesting dishes we have yet to try out. The only regret we had was ordering the lemon barley drink. It was really too weird, especially when it's warm. On the plus side, having the lemon probably help in our digestion, because we were so full !
